Prevention, early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer and polyposis syndromes

Welcome to the website of the Amsterdam Colorectal Cancer Research Group, led by Prof. Dr. Evelien Dekker.

Our research group is dedicated to the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, both sporadic and hereditary colorectal cancer, and polyposis syndromes.

We combine expert patient care with clinical, translational and basic research. This integration motivates us and ensures that our findings can be translated into clinical practice.

We operate within a multidisciplinary team, in which we work closely with other departments within the Amsterdam UMC such as the surgery-, pathology and the department of Epidemiology & Data Science (EDS). Besides, we have strong partnerships and collaborations with national and internationally renowned colleagues and institutions.
